Lisa Frederico, DVM graduated from The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2002. She interned at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington Kentucky, then completed an equine surgery residency at North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine which was predominantly sport horse focused. She worked as an associate in racetrack practice for several years as attending veterinarian for horses competing at the graded stakes level, including the Kentucky Derby and Breeders Cup.
Dr. Frederico completed an intensive course in equine and small animal spinal manipulative therapy at the Healing Oasis Sturtevant Accredited Training Center for veterinarians in Wisconsin, and an Accredited course in equine acupuncture at Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians (MAV) in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Dr. Frederico has also been involved in the horse industry since the age of four as a rider, competitor, and horse owner in Thoroughbred as well as Sport Horse disciplines. She now competes exclusively in dressage, and has ridden a variety of horses from off the track thoroughbreds to warmbloods. Dr Frederico qualified for regional finals on a home bred Holsteiner Thoroughbred Cross. Dr Frederico and her husband have been involved in the sale of Thorougbred yearlings in Kentucky for the past several years, including syndication.
Outside of riding, Dr Frederico’s interests are gardening, cycling, doting on her beloved cat Mowgli, and to take vacations to the beach.
